The State Educational Institution of the Islamic Institute of Tajikistan was officially established by the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan No. 547 dated November 2, 2007. The Islamic Institute of Tajikistan was established on the basis of the Islamic University of Tajikistan named after Imam Tirmidhi, which had been operating since June 1997.
In 2009, on the occasion of the 1310th anniversary of the veneration of Imam Azam-Abu Hanifa, by the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan dated March 3, 2009 No. 629, the State Educational Institution of the Islamic Institute of Tajikistan was renamed after Imam Azam-Abu Hanifa Nu’man ibn Sobit.
The activities of the Islamic Institute of Tajikistan named after Imam Azam-Abu Hanifa are carried out on the basis of the legislation of the Republic of Tajikistan, regulatory legal acts, including the laws of the Republic of Tajikistan “On Education”, “On Higher Professional Education and Post-Higher Professional Education”, instructions and instructions of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, resolutions of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, resolutions of the Board of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan, instructions and instructions of the Committee for Religion, Regulation of Traditions and Ceremonies under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Charter of the Institute.
The Islamic Institute of Tajikistan is the only educational institution in the field of religious education in the Republic of Tajikistan. It should be noted that the functioning of the Institute in the context of independence is, first of all, to regulate the religious life of the country, meet the religious needs, language training of the population and provide religious workers who are brought up in the spirit of humanity, patriotism, tolerance and values of the Hanafi school. It should be noted that religious education at the Islamic Institute is organized within the framework of the doctrine of the Great Imam – Abu Hanifa Nu’man ibn Sobit.
The Islamic Institute of Tajikistan sees its mission in educating knowledgeable and cultured specialists, humanists and patriots, bright and free from prejudice and prejudice, and preparing and mobilizing them for the comprehensive development and improvement of the Motherland – dear Tajikistan.
Education at the Islamic Institute is organized according to the credit system of education. The Institute has a library, a reading room, a conference room, a testing center, a computer training center connected to the Internet, and special classrooms for studying Russian, Arabic and English. To facilitate the educational process and conduct scientific and educational work, the library’s stock fund is increased in accordance with the activities of educational areas.
